Flamenco en el Cine is here!

A NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FLAMENCO organized annual event in collaboration with the Bernalillo County Film Office!  Join us for this mini film festival showcasing iconic flamenco films, including Roser Corella's documentary about pathbreaking dancer Manuel Liñán, a Carmen Amaya classic, and Tony Gatlif's newest feature film.

Rojo Clavel explores the journey of flamenco dancer Manuel Liñán as he searches for the freedom to truly be himself. The film is not merely a celebration of flamenco; it is a profound exploration of the universal need to connect, free from fear.

María de La O (1939) Dir. Francisco Elias, 80 min. -  3:15 showtime

Starring the great Carmen Amaya. An exiled famous painter returns to  Spain under a false name to meet his daughter, who has become a flamenco dancer. He offers her his house, stirring up rumors.

Ange (2025) Dir. Tony Gatlif, 97 min -  5:15 showtime

Ange, an unattached musician, feels the vital need to find and make peace with his old friend Marco. Soleá, the rebellious daughter of Ange's old flame, joins him on his journey. Together, they find their way back to joy.
