This mini film festival, Flamenco en el Cine. organized by the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FLAMENCO  and produced in partnership with the Bernalillo County Film Office, showcases iconic flamenco films by directors Pedro Barbadillo, Tony Gatlif, and the first film of Spanish music icon Antón Álvarez (C. Tangana), 2025 two-time Goya winner.


To be screened - 


Dame Veneno 3:30pm - Based on the creation of the Veneno group (formed by brothers Raimundo and Rafael Amador and Kiko Veneno). Through performances and interviews this documentary tells how they changed the world of flamenco. In it appear personages like Tomatito, Raimundo and Rafael Amador, Paco de Lucía, Ricardo Pachón and Pansequito. The documentary has music as a narrative element to approach three fundamental names of Spanish music: Camarón, Veneno and Pata Negra.  [Dir. Latcho Drom 5:15pm - The stunning & invigorating journey of the Romany people told through musicians and dancers of India, Egypt, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, France, and Spain.  [DIr. Tony Gatlif - 1993 - 103m - several languages with English subtitles]


La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés 7:15pm - A story that combines the power of music with the weight of a family secret that must come to light. Starring Yerai Cortés himself, the plot explores themes of passion, love and forgiveness as the protagonist confronts the hidden truths of his family. Wrapped in a unique musical experience, this story not only highlights the power of flamenco as a means of expression, but also addresses Yerai's internal conflict.  [Dir. C.
