Since the ‘90s, Sachs has kept every business card anyone has ever given her. With her film's title adapted from Edmond Locard, a pioneer in forensic science, Sachs sifts through the cards to discover not only DNA residue, but points of departure into other lives. Each card is a portal to her past, as her essay teases apart emotional resonances through audiovisual immersion and a poet’s sense of introspection.
