FROM THE WRITER/DIRECTOR OF IN BRUGES & THREE BILLBOARDS!

Set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, lifelong friends Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson) find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Pádraic, aided by his sister Siobhán (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic, endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Pádraic's repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

"The film toggles masterfully between comedy and tragedy; realism and fable. It manages to be both of the moment and completely timeless." - Max Weiss, Baltimore Magazine

"It's a gut punch of a comic-drama that keeps finding new ways to land hard-hitting body blows, and it's easily one of the year's very best films." - Adam Graham, Detroit News

"McDonagh, Farrell, and Gleeson deliver something special, The Banshees of Inisherin unquestionably one of the year’s best films." - Sara Michelle Fetters, MovieFreak.com

"Farrell and Gleeson, who exhibited tremendous chemistry from In Bruges, are superb again, mining dramatic riches... all without unbalancing the film's rich comedic instincts." - Nathaniel Rogers, The Film Experience

"This is a complex, rich and nuanced work, funny as hell and devastatingly bleak. Colin Farrell delivers his best work. Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Barry Koenig are beyond excellent, etching memorable, instantly classic portrayals." - Frank J. Avella, Edge Media Network

"A story of alienation and mortality, this meditative and dark dramedy delivers sensational performances, high emotion, and one of the year’s best films - if not the best." - Matt Hudson, What I Watched Tonight
