World-Renowned artist & activist Ai Weiwei's detailed and heartbreaking exploration into the global refugee crisis.

More than 65 million people around the world have been forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war, the greatest displacement since World War II. This new experimental documentary examines the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact. Over the course of one year in 23 countries, Weiwei follows a chain of urgent human stories that stretch across the globe, including Afghanistan, France, Greece, Germany and Iraq.

“Ai simply bears witness in a film that, like many of his sculptural pieces, establishes a creative tension between its giant scale and its individual pieces.” - Kate Taylor, Globe and Mail

“This is angry, thoughtful, straightforward activist journalism: blunt, simple and impossible to ignore.” - Dave Calhoun, Time Out

“Engrossing, visually stunning documentary” - Deborah Young, Hollywood Reporter

“With its epic scale and global reach, Human Flow is a powerful testament to a shameful crime against humanity.” - John Bleasdale, CineVue

“Ai Weiwei's camera shows us the enormity of the problem - now it's our turn to do something.” - Jordan Hoffman, Guardian

“As DeMillean in scope as it is radical in its call to compassion, it's basically The Ten Commandments of dissident art.” - Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK)

“Films rarely fit their titles as snugly as Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei's ambitious, timely documentary survey of the worldwide refugee crisis.” - Lee Marshall, Screen International
